Wedding Planning Blues

No not those kind of blues. The good kind of blues like something borrowed something blue. Being engaged has been everything I hoped for and more honestly. And I’m not even sorry about it. I keep catching myself thinking, oh maybe I shouldn’t post so much about it and then I think, “Megan, why do you care. You’ve waited your whole life for this and when are you ever going to be a fiancé again.”

I will say I didn’t expect to be so over-whelmed. I have definitely had those moments. A lot of time and money goes into a wedding so I’m seeing the other side of capturing a wedding from a camera. It makes a lot more sense to me why the guest list is so crucial, why venues are so expensive and why elopements are a thing lol.

I think a lot of people, even some of my family expected me to be really over the top and have this extravagant party with all the extra-ness and not to mention a bridezilla. I think working in the wedding industry has turned me complete opposite. The entire time I’ve been talking weddings “less is more” has truly been on repeat in my mind. And on the topic of bridezillas, I’ve seen some of the worst. Not my own brides to clarification they are always angels lol but at the end of the day, our wedding day, is simply about Byron and I and there no poor attitude or freak outs when it comes to him.

For a little update…if you care because I do. We’ve gotten a lot done in just three weeks. Venue - check, dress - check, photographer - check, dj - check, planner - check. But let’s face it, I knew who and what I wanted to work with because of working in the industry.

Next upcoming to do’s will include my Bridal Brunch, starting our save the dates and pictures and the fun part of tastings and picking out all the details! I’m exciting to share this journey with you guys but since this will be more of the personal side and tagging vendors portion of the journey, I wanted to mention that I guest write a lot more educational blogs at Simply Elegant! So please check them and Simply Elegant out!
